CalFresh

CalFresh is California’s name for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which provides monthly benefits to low-income individuals and households to buy food. Benefits are loaded onto an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, which can be used at most grocery stores and farmers’ markets to purchase food. Eligibility is determined by factors like household size, income, and expenses.
