Covered California

Covered California is the state’s official health insurance marketplace, created as part of the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA). It allows eligible Californians to shop for and compare private health insurance plans, and many are eligible for financial assistance to help lower their monthly costs. The program offers plans in four tiers—Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum—with different cost-sharing arrangements, and it also provides a pathway to enroll in Medi-Cal, California’s Medicaid program.
