Golden Gate Symphony & Chorus Benicia Chapter-Music

The Golden Gate Symphony & Chorus (GGSOC) provides accessible classical music through community performances, music education, and diverse programming for amateur and professional musicians in the Bay Area, featuring orchestral and choral works, educational workshops (like Summer Sing-Ins), student internship programs, and international tours for its youth ensembles, fostering community engagement and musical appreciation.

the Benicia chapter practices weekly in downtown Benicia. The group’s annual performances include the annual Sing It Yourself Messiah at the Clock Tower. The lead conductor is Urs Leonhardt Steiner. The chorus is led by Benicia resident Bruce Rockwell and actively recruits and welcomes new members. In Summer 2026, Benicia singers will be going on an international tour to Switzerland, where they will be featured in a major Swiss classical music festival.

Frequency of concerts: In Benicia/Solano/North Contra Costa area, we will usually perform up to 4 times a year.
